Hey so im confused as to why the game doesn’t update on itchio? Is it any updates from now on going to be patron exclusive until every characters days are fully done??,, or is there a way I can update my days per say (gil day 11) on here??
It is possible but, as a native Spanish speaker who's working on a Translation degree, I have to say it would be no easy job. It has a pretty solid writing in English (salve for maybe one or two typos I managed to pinpoint), but it resorts to quite a few puns and jokes that only really make sense with English lexicon due to context. Localizing such dialogue lines into Spanish would be doable, but a hassle nonetheless.
There's an error in Lars's route where when you choose to not interact with him when heading to campus. In the class after Parker's lesson ends it crashes and returns me to the start menu. Pls look into it 🙏.
Other than that, wish Wilfred had a route as well.
I have a question about the nightmare sequence on Day 9 in Lars's path (i havent finished his path yet) but how does MC's brother fit in all of this??? Like, it left me totally shocked and had my mind blown by it. it is really something TOTALLY unexpected from a visual novel of this caliber. Despite not finishing Lars's path, i can confirm that this is the best visual novel i have witnessed EVER, period. Great job on it!
Hello hello!~ Just wanted to say that I love this VN. I've been here since near the beginning following the installments and while the character art constantly has me gagged by how attractive they are, I also love the story and the characters themselves (favorite is Gil, the sweet goof~). I can understand reservations about certain characters but with each expansion of the plot their behaviors and the writing behind them continue to feel more intentional and I'm SO looking forward to more!
(Also Walter's dad caught me off guard but I love him so much already.)

They really shouldn't have published Mark's special episode until they finished publishing his route. I played what's available to the public with Mark's route and I fucking love it. Then I played his special episode and now I can't get it out of my head. I have too many questions now.

Was everything that happened after day 4 just a game? Was it not real? Does Mark not really love MC? What was the thing he got sent? Who's the "old friend"? There was a point that might suggest it was MC's dad. THE FUCK DO YOU MEAN MARK AND ANDERS WERE BOYFRIENDS?!
Holy FUCK. This was NOT the game I needed to play when I'm as easily irritable as I am right now, because this shit got me all the way fucked up. I tried to be patient with this, but it just kept pissing me off until I just had to delete it. I don't like being mean, but if I don't air these frustrations out I'm gonna do something much worse.
Maybe it was my mistake picking Mark's route (and slight spoilers if you if you're trying to play this through, but if you stop reading here, just know that Mark is surprisingly clingy if you do try to play it, god forbid.) ANYWAY
Mark is like REALLY CLINGY, and if you've played Camp Buddy, it's really similar to Hiro at the start of the game (god knows I couldn't even make it past that.) it's to the point where the Main Character can't look away for a second, nor EXIST within the vicinity of someone that Mark barely doesn't vibe with for him to just act out and basically beg for the MC (Walter)'s attention (overexaggeration but you get what I mean.) I dunno if it's just that type of character, but it really just pisses me off, to the point where I'm constantly agitated while I'm playing through.
That in itself wouldn't be enough just to make me say 'fuck this shit' though, it was also a combination of Walter as well. They were surprisingly naive and clueless to the point that looking back on it, if I put them in front of a TV show for toddlers, like Dora the Explorer or Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, I genuinely wouldn't be surprised if they had a hard time following the story. I am amazed that Walter is still alive.
But still, I had a lot of tolerance for Walter AND Mark. It was just when I got to Day 10 and 11 when I truly lost it.
For starters, expect to be faced with new characters that you've never seen before in your life suddenly popping up into the story, and everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, INCLUDING THE GODDAMN MAIN CHARACTER treating them like they've just been in the story since the beginning. You can also expect Walter to suddenly know shit that was never told to them, in fact I feel was deliberately trying to be hidden from them. If you play the route to this point, you'll probably get what I mean.
For No. 2, expect a noticable contrast in Mark's character. Before, it was the clinginess, but now, it's like Mark's starting to act like a Snobbish, Pompous ass. The story takes a noticable change in direction and starts talking about Mark's family more out of nowhere basically (which also bothered me,) but it's this change in character that also got on my nerves.
And for no. 3, the straw that broke the camel's back for me. THE GODDAMN FULL SCREEN SCENE DESCRIPTORS. I was playing this on my phone, so imagine my surprise when suddenly instead of playing through the scene with actual dialogue, my screen fades to black and there's literal text describing what the characters did. And imagine my surprise again when I find out it's not just limited to Dialogue, it's also used to transition between scenes.
Oh my god. Ohhhh my god.
This game has had such good writing, and I've just loved the writing compared to a few other games that I've played. It's paced well, and each character feels unique. So I was really disappointed by this choice. I know this isn't the intention, but it comes off lazy at best in it's execution, when it really doesn't have to be. If they were reworked to be less intrusive (maybe use the actual dialogue box,) or removed in some places that they aren't needed, I would totally be fine with it! But as it stands right now, it just came off as lazy, and I just couldn't fuck with that anymore.
If you've made it to this point, wow. Just wow. You've reached the end of my cruel rant. I wanted to play the other routes, but I just can't bring myself to redownload this game again. I wanted to love Mark, I wanted to love this game, but it just pisses me off so much to the point where I just couldn't bear it anymore.
Yeah, it's just disappointing, Yknow? I love this VN, but now it's just frustrating, and kinda rough to read now. I do admit, I could've definitely been less harsh.
